This is deadline week for me with my narration of the Audiobook Firestorm and I've taken a few steps to make it all better. I find that what gives me the most stress about my voice over journey so far is the technical aspect of having a good space to record in but even more, how to overcome the near state of ignorance I had to the art of sound engineering. I've only been working with ACX so far and it has been great experience but it's taken some leaps of faith to actually get it done. Here is what I've done: I had the opportunity to upgrade my Bluetooth keyboard as well. I plan to add a monitor to that so I can work on and off the laptop. I also have a new 9' Ipad Pro which I use now just to deal with scripts but I hope at some point to be able to control my DAW from there. I'm also going to buy the pen to use with it in the next month or so. I went on a DAW discovery journey because I knew I was coming to a point that I wanted more automation that...

I decided that for my own benefit and also for those other people making their way in the world of voice over that it would be a good idea to share things here that have been important to me in my journey. First let me say that working in Voice Over is something I love to do. So much so that I would and have done it for free just because I love doing it. At this point in my journey, it's time to figure out how it can provide a living for me. I actually started this journey in New York and began my first ever real step to making it a career there at Edge Studio. It was my first time "in the booth" and I fell in love right away....
